About Us

A firm built so you don’t have to trust the pitch.

NxtChapter Campus Advisors exists to answer one category of question with defensible math: what should your campus bookstore return, and what will it take to get there? Everything about the firm — the methodology, the fee structure, the governance — is designed so the answer doesn’t depend on believing us.

The Firm

What NxtChapter is

NxtChapter Campus Advisors is a specialized advisory firm serving four-year colleges and universities in three connected practice areas: bookstore contract auditing, renegotiation advisory, and operations pathways consulting. That’s the whole list — we do one category of work, deeply, rather than many categories thinly.

Our focus is deliberate: private colleges and universities across Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina — the campuses where auxiliary revenue carries outsized weight and national operator contracts were rarely built with their enrollment profile in mind.

No step in the process permits a subjective override — not by an analyst, and not by the founder. That discipline is codified in our Methodology Independence Statement: findings belong to the institution unconditionally, to act on with us, with counsel, or entirely on your own. Nothing in a finding is contingent on further engagement.

Boundaries

What we will never do

  • ×Charge a contingency fee — every engagement is flat-fee and fixed-scope
  • ×Publish fabricated clients, testimonials, or outcomes
  • ×Receive grant dollars directly — grant funds flow to the institution, always
  • ×Stretch an engagement onto a campus too small to benefit from one
  • ×Let a finding depend on anything but the documented methodology
Leadership

The people behind the method

Listed after the methodology on purpose — the order is the point.

Founder & Managing Partner

Justin Gamble

Justin founded NxtChapter Campus Advisors to bring benchmark discipline to a category of contract that most institutions sign once a decade and never re-read — and to do it in a way that keeps every decision, and every finding, in the institution’s hands.

That discipline is built on 19+ years of in-store bookstore operations experience across both independent and outsourced pathways. That time was spent in varying roles — learning firsthand how the processes actually work, not just how they’re described in a contract.

Governance

Governance, in one paragraph

Fee Structure Flat · Fixed · No Contingency
Findings Ownership The Institution’s, Unconditionally

Flat fees keep our incentives aligned with accurate findings rather than inflated ones. The tier gates cap every client’s downside at the current engagement. And the Methodology Independence Statement makes the findings yours no matter what you decide next. We designed the firm this way because our buyers — CFOs, General Counsel, Provosts — are professionally obligated to be skeptical, and we’d rather earn that skepticism’s approval than ask for its suspension.

The method is the introduction. The scoping conversation is the next step.
